How do you show gratitude?
How do you give thanks?
Do you appreciate what someone has done for you?
Do you show kindness and have an appreciation for yourself?
As kids we were always taught to say please and thank you, it is something we all try to teach our own kids. Be gracious by saying thank you!
A good way to start your day is to list a minimum of three things that you are grateful for. For example:
I am grateful for my body.
I am grateful for the water I drink.
I am grateful for warm sunny days.
All too often we can lose perspective and focus on the negative things in life. You only need to watch the news to get caught up in all the drama and chaos. If you start your day by setting the intention that you appreciate and show grace and gratitude for sometimes the little things in life, then watch how your life changes trajectory from one that is focused on lack, into one of abundance. By abundance I mean, filling your soul with all the things that make your heart sing!
We can often be challenged to show grace and gratitude when we are driving our car. Do you sometimes get annoyed at other drivers for not going fast enough, or for driving too close behind you? At that moment, if you take a deep breath and change your perspective then you will see that we are all going in the same direction. If someone is driving close behind you, then move over if you can and allow them to pass. If someone in front of you is driving slow, then try to understand that they are going at a pace that is safe and appropriate for them. If you can pass them safely then do so with grace and gratitude and give thanks for allowing them to show you how to practice the art of patience.
The world is shifting into a higher state of consciousness, from fear and separation into love and feeling connected. No matter what job you have, we are all in-service, all in-service to each other. The act of being grateful starts with us. You can shift your consciousness by starting with one small act of appreciating the things in your life, which will open the door to being more appreciative and grateful towards others and for all things. A simple thanks and act of kindness goes a long way in making someone feel appreciated. For we are not separate from each other but connected in all ways. We are all as ONE.
