In the Southern Hemisphere, the Winter Solstice is just around the corner which marks the shortest day of the year. From here the days will start to get longer and symbolises the return of sunshine and warmth as we begin to move closer to the sun.
To celebrate the Winter Solstice, festivals are often held where people gather and walk the streets with lanterns, as they are traditionally seen as a symbol of lighting the way to longer days ahead. Bonfires, dancing, music, and drumming also form part of the celebration.
This is a time of going within, of reflection and resting the physical body. It is time for thinking about what you want to create, of planting the seeds, to see what grows and births in the Spring.
The song that has been Divinely chosen for this month complements the Winter Solstice theme, so I really hope you can join us this Saturday and connect with the light and warmth of a Soulful Music Blessing.
